My work is submitted so I ain't gonna get any extra marks, just doing this for myself as the marriage between music and visual is something I'm passionate about. There are sections in cinema which I feel perfect it! Last of the Mohicans when the girl jumps off the cliff, its not that that puts the lump in my throat, its the accompanying bass. I've been overlaying different tracks to this animation. The tricky thing being is that its so short. Tracks I've tried are the Twin Peaks opening, the Pans Labyrinth theme, Aliens violins, Sia covering Paranoid Android as well as more uplifting tunes, Bedroom Dancing by Le Tigre and Shadow of a doubt by Sonic Youth. The most complimentary were Le Tigre and Pans Labyrinth.

JOhn R final

This is what I finally produced for the project. I want music on it. Thinking Le Tigre? Sonic Youth or something more whimsical and eerie. Pans Labyrinth sound track? Anyway now is all done and put together I'm happy with how it looks. Sure there's imperfections! Frames haven't been cleaned up properly. I'd also correct her right arm and left calf muscle. But all in all, given as I couldn't envision how the finalised version would look, I'm happy with how its turned out and I'm proud of it.

Drawing line

These are various experiments as the more I the more I learn and understand what Cinema4D can do, the more I am aware of possible directions to take this project. At the minute I'm thinking keep it simple.

Inside sphere

This doesn't look as good as I'd hoped but could put a trippy/ horrible pattern on the penetrating sphere? we'll see.

Ripples

AS mentioned in my annotation and research, I was mostly inspired by Slow Wave where the bedroom floor is like the ocean and David Oreillys glitch references. This didn't turn out entirely as planned but still looks alright. However when its rendered it looks crap.

Test

Tuesday, 10 January 2017

I have made a checklist of things to do which mostly consists of annotation and documenting my decision making. I feel this area in particular is a weak spot for me. Ideally I should be annotating as I go. So got plenty of that to be getting on with. All the assets I intend to use at this stage are already uploaded to cinema4d. Except for the girls walk cycle. I have corrected the armpit issues and her right arm on Photoshop and quite proud to say it was a doddle. However at this stage I am still one frame missing. I'm not sure how to save a separate image to a separate layer. Hopefully address this today at college. Other than that. I know its easy enough to create a scene in cinema 4d, getting it to look right might be tricky! Not sure if it needs to be rendered ready for submission? So plan is to start writing up annotation. Think doing it on word is my best bet. add her missing frame and have a bash at creating a trippy forest scenario x
